OK, Casca can be a pain in the ass, but if the answer is Hon. Donald Rumsfeld, SecDef, you best be giving him the bucks, 'cause everyone knows his nickname in D.C. is "Rummy".
But, if allowed a second guess, I might say:
BZZZZ Who is Don Imus?

Score Bard:
There are two Boltons.
One is the Ambassador, John, but the other is his brother, Josh, who is the Director of OMB, a sub-Cabinet appointment.
Both are long time government wonks.

As everyone in the Western world knows, I was referring to the man who has TWICE been SecDef, Donald Rumsfeld.

Imus is scary.
Casca is correct and has control.
i had to make sure, since "Rummy" could also refer to Mr. Gower. As in "That Rummy did twenty years in jail for poisoning a kid. If you know him you must be a jailboid yourself!"

Christus Victor,
I was thinking of the love spawn of Yanni and Kenny G. If I'm not mistaken, this same Michael Bolton is a lightning rod for criticism and is considered hard to work for. He may also be the same dude who took a break from recording bad music to declare North Korea a "hellhole," which did not earn him plaudits from Kim Jong Il's administration.
It's possible I'm confusing Michael Bolton with John Bolton, the mustachioed nominee for UN ambassador who is a lightning rod for criticism, is considered hard to work for, and who cranks out "lite jazz" for horny white people.
Wait a minute... maybe I've confused them both with Tony Danza, the dude who starred in that old series, "Hoosier Daddy?"

Jeopardy With annika, Round 24
The category is "Fuckin' Lawyers," for $400. It's a video clue.
Trevor is in the lead with $1600, Casca has $1200, Victor has $1100, Phil has $500, Skippy and D-Rod have $400 each, Jasen and Shelly have $300 each, Ken and Kyle have $200 each.
And Shelly has found the first Daily Double!
The rules for Daily Double are almost the same as on tv, with an important exception. In my game everybody gets to play the Daily Double.
Every response must have a wager in it. The lowest you can wager is $50 and the highest you can wager is either $500 or however much money you have earned already, whichever is higher. Or you can wager any amount in between.
One caveat. Since Shelly picked the Daily Double, his response gets priority. So if you guess before him you run the risk of tipping him off to the correct response. At the expiration of the time limit (10:00 p.m. Pacific time on Monday) the rest of the responses will count in order of their posting.
Since i'm running out of ideas for "Fuckin' Lawyers," this time the clue will be in reverse. i'll tell you who's fucking him, you tell me the name of the lawyer.

P.S. Even if I am dead wrong, it puts us all out of our misery and you guys can get back in the game. It has to be him or Marino, and I don't think Marino is a lawyer; I think Young is a lawyer.

at my school there's plenty of girls with tongue studs too. my roommate has one. but i don't see how you can expect to be taken seriously as a professional woman with one.

Gotta admit, annika, at the law firm where I work, you don't see too many tatoos, nor piercings in places other than the earlobes, on any of the attorneys.
Posted by: Victor at July 28, 2005 05:34 PM (IBRcA)

I have a tattoo that I can easily hide too.
My boss would have my head on a silver platter if I showed up to work in with a stud in my tongue though.
I'm loving these Jeopardy posts by the way!

OK, just one question Annie:
Why would any attractive, educated woman feel the need to deface her natural beauty with a piercing of any kind, anywhere, other than the standard earring piercings?
What drives you guys? I could never understand it, or, for that matter, tattoos.
I guess I am old fashioned, but I feel that the female form is attractive enough (when cared for) to do the job on any man, without all the piercings and colorings.

D-Rod is correct. The worst traffic jam i've been (that didn't involve some sort of major accident or mishap, just normal traffic) was in Honolulu. But Sacramento has consisntently bad traffic. it's like the perfect storm for traffic. Sudden population growth, poor city planning, incompetent city government, two rivers that create bottlenecks, narrow freeways and bad drivers all contribute. There are no alternate routes. In the bay area, there's great public transportation, and in LA, they at least make an effort to alleviate traffic, plus there's lots of hidden alternate routes. i haven't driven in Boston or any of the other big east coast cities. i tried driving in NYC once, that was an experience i don't want to try again.
Anyways, D-Rod has control of the board.

Does anyone know why the other attendees were not heads of state?
Posted by: annika trebek at July 18, 2005 09:07 PM (Bq2Q0)

Because, hehehehe, Stalin was the head of the Party, not the President. Who the fuck knows who the President was. Churchill was the outgoing PM, and that fuckstick Atlee was the incoming, and as such, not the heads of state. The King/Queen are the heads of state in England. BTW, I'm playing drunk to give Victor a chance.

Posted by: d-rod at July 18, 2005 09:15 PM (SZjt0)
6
i think d-rod's a few drinks ahead of you, lol.
Stalin was "first among equals." Neither Atlee nor Churchill were heads of state, the king was.
According to David McCullough, Stalin asked Truman to preside over the conference because he was the only head of state present. Churchill seconded the idea.

A great example of de jure vs. de facto. In those days, the Soviet head of government appointed the head of state. Bizarre system.
At least George VI was the head of state in the UK. Imagine if Edward had remained.
