Is GB Russia?

This sounds like a joke.

Tony Blair is facing a possible police investigation over an alleged slur against the Welsh.

. . . [T]he Prime Minister repeatedly referred to them as 'f****** Welsh'.

It is said to have happened while he was watching the disappointing results of the Welsh Assembly elections in 1999.

. . .

North Wales Police said: 'A complaint has been received and is being reviewed.

'We will be seeking the advice of the Crown Prosecution Service in relation to the content of the statement of complaint.'

The CPS is expected to apply standard tests before deciding whether an investigation is viable and worthwhile.

The tests include whether an investigation would be in the public interest and whether there would be a reasonable chance of conviction.

This is a fucking joke right? It's illegal to say fucking Welsh in Great Britain. i knew they were a tolerant sort of people, but i was unaware that the Taliban had taken seats in Parliament. Someone please tell me this is an Onion story that got posted on Sky News by mistake.

If using the word fuck in reference to a Welshman is a crime, why isn't Elizabeth Taylor in jail?

1 I think the word was used often in connection with Tom Jones.

2 Nah, in Russia you can say anything you want about anyone, as long as they're not in power. The immortal lines of Flanders & Swann spring to mind: The English, the English, the English are best I wouldn't give tuppence for all of the rest. The rottenest bits of these islands of ours We've left in the hands of three unfriendly powers Examine the Irishman, Welshman or Scot You'll find he's a stinker, as likely as not. The Scotsman is mean, as we're all well aware And bony and blotchy and covered with hair He eats salty porridge, he works all the day And he hasn't got bishops to show him the way! The English, the English, the English are best I wouldn't give tuppence for all of the rest. The Irishman now out contempt is beneath He sleeps in his boots and he lies through his teeth He blows up policemen, or so I have heard And blames it on Cromwell and William the Third! The English are noble, the English are nice, And worth any other at double the price The Welshman's dishonest and cheats when he can And little and dark, more like monkey than man He works underground with a lamp in his hat And he sings far too loud, far too often, and flat! And crossing the Channel, one cannot say much Of French and the Spanish, the Danish or Dutch The Germans are German, the Russians are red, And the Greeks and Italians eat garlic in bed! The English are moral, the English are good And clever and modest and misunderstood. And all the world over, each nation's the same They've simply no notion of playing the game They argue with umpires, they cheer when they've won And they practice beforehand which ruins the fun! The English, the English, the English are best So up with the English and down with the rest. It's not that they're wicked or natuarally bad It's knowing they're foreign that makes them so mad! For the English are all that a nation should be, And the flower of the English are Casca (Annika) Casca (Annika) and Me!

4 And if Blair is convicted, Prince Charles will administer the punishment and hit him over the head with a dead albatross.

5 The EU has hate speech codes. You cannot say anything derogatory about any class of people even if what you say is true. Most American universities have the same speech codes. These hatred laws are used to stifle dissent against the government and are the main reason for existence. For instance: 1. A group of Brits demonstrated against the proposed EU constitution in Brussels. They were charged with a hate crime. 2. The second largest party in Belgium was outlawed using hate crime laws because they spoke against unlimited Muslim immigration. 3. In France, you can be jailed for criticizing the President. Is the EU Russia? If you mean Russia under Stalin, then the answer is yes.

6 That is because long ago the Europeans lost all desire to even continue to exist. They have negative reproduction, they will not fight their enemies, they are ashamed of their own culture. In short, they will soon be in the ashheap of history.

7 I wonder... There is a beautiful line by Whittaker Chambers. In 1955 Chambers wrote, “It is idle to talk of preventing the wreck of Western Civilization, it is already a wreck from within. That is why we can do little more now than snatch a fingernail of a saint from the wrack, or a handful of ashes from the fagots, and bury them secretly in a flower pot against that day, ages hence, when a few men begin again to dare to believe that there once was something else, that something else is thinkable, and need some evidence of what it was, and the fortifying knowledge that there were those who, at the great nightfall, took loving thought to preserve the tokens of hope and truth.” I have lived through darker days than now, and doubtless will again. When I was looking this line up, I found it quoted by Ronald Reagan in an anecdotal obituary of RR with him quoting the line before he was elected President. Those were very dark and hopeless days. I suppose the point is that God always leaves a remnant, and there is surely one in Europe, no matter the foolishness of the masses.

8 Perhaps, but I certainly cannot see it. At least in Western Europe. Now Eastern Europe is another matter.

9 If you're under 30, it's hard to know how dominant the left was here in the 1960's and 1970's. It's worth remembering that Europe is still dominated by their old media, and the peculiarities of their cultures.
